About Beej
I have been captivated by the world of artistic expression. I pursued a formal education in Graphic Art, eager to explore different mediums and techniques. However, as life progressed and my own family grew, my focus shifted. Though my art took a backseat, my passion for creating art remained unwavering. I sought opportunities to continue honing my craft, attending regular art classes at the renowned Royal Queensland Art Society (RQAS).
My appetite for growth led me to explore further various painting and drawing classes. At RQAS, I delved into the captivating realm of Life Art Drawing, followed by other classes and workshops. From landscapes to still life, each new subject presented an exciting opportunity to expand my artistic horizons. Through regular classes and immersing myself in the art world, I gained the confidence to begin displaying my work at the Royal Queensland Art Society and entering into competitions and becoming a finalist at the Darcy Doyles 2023 (portrait and still life) and Dean Cogle Portrait 2023 exhibitions, to name a few.
I have used my education background with international students and taught young people in after-school art classes five days a week for several years. This experience showed me the powerful impact of art. I enjoyed sharing my knowledge and inspiring creativity in others. I witnessed how it built confidence, encouraged self-expression, and created a sense of belonging.
Today, armed with a Diploma in Art Therapy, I find myself in a unique position. The fusion of my love for art and my understanding of its therapeutic benefits has opened doors to a multitude of possibilities. I realize that my journey in the world of art is not solely about personal fulfillment, but also about making a difference in the lives of others.
I love bringing art into people's lives, whether for enjoyment or healing. I want to share this gift with everyone. I believe art can transform, inspire, and connect people. Join me on this artistic journey!
